Description:
On behalf of our client, a dynamic Austrian startup specialized in the production of cannabis cuttings, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Propagation Manager to oversee and lead the propagation department, including the mother plants room and the cuttings room.

Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and perform the daily care of mother plants, including pruning, irrigation, and health monitoring
- Manage all stages of the cloning process, including preparing clones for transplant and ensure the production of healthy, uniform cuttings
- Execute and oversee the cutting and rooting of cannabis cuttings with consistency and precision
- Perform daily monitoring of clone inventory and track new clone counts
- Report any losses or dead cuttings promptly
- Monitor and analyze the success rate of each strain’s propagation to ensure quality standards
- Lead, train, and support a team of approximately five staff members
- Ensure enforcement and application by the supervising team of hygiene protocols and internal quality standards throughout all propagation phases
- Coordinate with other departments to align propagation volumes with production needs
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience in a similar role within medium- to large-scale cannabis or hemp cultivation facilities
- Solid knowledge of cannabis plant care, mother plant management, and propagation techniques
- Familiarity with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices
- Hands-on, precise, and detail-oriented approach
- Strong communication and leadership skills; able to train and motivate a small team
- Honest, reliable, and passionate about working with plants
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Problem-solving mindset and adaptability
- Availability to start at the Vienna facility around 11 September 2025
