Philanthropy Manager

The Position:

As Philanthropy Manager on the Fundraising & Philanthropy team you will contribute to the winning of donors and sponsors in a significant way and facilitate the successful cultivation of donor, patron and benefactor relationships with the University of Vienna. The core of the role is the emotional dimension of fundraising, philanthropy, communications, event management and finance. You will work collaboratively with several colleagues in different areas of the university.

This position is available for the earliest possible start date. It is a fixed-term contract for six months, with the option for permanent employment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

To make direct requests for financial support from donors, both individually and through appeal

To be a key point of contact for sponsors and donors, as well as cultivating these relationships, ensuring their satisfaction, and retaining their suppor

To effectively and efficiently record interactions and developments with prospects and donors, as well as operate the integration of donor, payment and other data in various ERP and expert system
• s
To assist with the coordination of visits including scheduling appointments with other university departments, preparing briefings, booking equipment, facilities and refreshments as require

To write and manage grant applications/processes in matching the funding priorities and values of the grantmaking organization, as well as following up on all requests and needs of the pre-screening process and expanding the ensuing relationship

To be in charge of planning and implementing philanthropic events in close collaboration with the University of Vienna’s Conference and Event Management unit, including the oversight of marketing, ticket sales, and the enlisting of volunteer

To support the creation of reports or other formal documentation for university committees and senior staf

To respond promptly to requests for documentation and information from the Rector’s Office and other senior university staf

• Fair salary: The basic salary corresponds to the collective agreement for university employees according to § 54 VwGr. IVa. € 3.390,3 gross on a full-time basis (14 times a year). The actual salary will be determined on the basis of professional experience and qualifications. The gross salary covers all quantitative and qualitative services provided by the employee.
