Scientist - Protein Expression, Purification and Fermentation (f/m/x)

These are the tasks we trust in you:

• Develop and execute protocols for protein expression in prokaryotic (e.g., E. coli) and/or eukaryotic systems (e.g., yeast, insect cells).
• Operate and optimize fermentation and cell culture systems to support protein production at lab scale.
• Perform protein purification using chromatography techniques (affinity, IEX, SEC).
• Conduct protein characterization and quality control, including SDS-PAGE, SEC, and UV/Vis.
• Run or support ELISA assays and contribute to immunoassay development when needed.
• Supervise and mentor a laboratory technician; assign and follow up on daily tasks.
• Ensure proper documentation, lab organization, and adherence to SOPs.
• Work closely with scientists and project managers to deliver high-quality data and material.

To grow in this position, it requires the following:

• MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of practical lab experience in protein production and purification.
• Solid experience with fermentation and/or insect cell culture systems.
• Familiarity with ELISA or other immunoassays is a strong plus.
• A background in veterinary science or interest in animal health applications is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proactive and structured mindset, with a focus on reliability and quality.

• This position is available immediately however, we are happy to consider your notice period or your desired start date.
• Based on your professional experience and your qualification, we offer you an attractive total compensation package starting at €54,000.00 gross annual base salary, plus attractive benefits.
