By bringing the available building blocks together in one tailored network solution, we can achieve this as part of an IP-based solution or within a hybrid environment. Frequentis has the expertise to merge applications into a converged IP infrastructure, manage safety-critical applications in a dedicated solution and integrate multiple technologies from many providers (e.g., MPLS, microwave, VSAT) into a homogenous end-to-end network solution.
Key Tasks
- You are part of an engineering team and are responsible for a section of the technical solution in the VSAT area in customer projects.
- You are the technical contact person for our customers and internal interfaces (ongoing projects in different continents e.g. North and South America).
- You collaborate in the design, setup, and configuration of the system architecture for standard IT and network components as well as Frequentis products in a safety-critical environment
- You analyse customer requirements and translate them into system requirements in order to be able to evaluate the technical feasibility of the final design. Technical risk management, including security and safety aspects, is also one of your tasks.
- You will guide the implementation of rollout projects within a nationwide system (including setup, integration, acceptance, and operation), and take care of the analysis and resolution of malfunctions and errors in existing systems.
- Also you will carry out the implementation of new software for internal testing, acceptance and rollout together with the customer.
- You are responsible for the support in the area of maintenance and service tasks.
- You have completed technical training with an IT or telecommunications focus and have at least 5 years of experience in an interface function with a high technical focus (e.g. as a system engineer)
- You have a solid technical background in Information Technology, with a focus on Linux systems and networking. You possess hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 network technologies.
- Good knowledge of communication technology (VoIP, SIP, RTP) for media audio transport protocols over UDP, TCP, and multicast.
- Professional experience with ITIL is considered beneficial.
- You enjoy working with customers and are willing to travel internationally approximately 35% of the time.
- Due to our international customer relationships, we require a very good command of English, any other foreign language is an advantage (especially Portuguese or Spanish).
