To strengthen our team in Köstendorf, we are looking for a "Head of QM SLS". Reporting directly to the VP Quality Management of PALFINGER, you will oversee all quality-related tasks for the Special Lifting Solutions product line, act as the gatekeeper for quality in the development process (PDP) and manage the Q-Swimlane. Your responsibilities include ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance while focusing on supplier quality management, plant quality management, and driving global quality initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and development for the global Quality Team (SLS), ensuring alignment of quality tasks across all organizational levels.
- Oversee and coordinate supplier and plant quality activities, while driving global cross-functional Quality Circles for the product line.
- Serve as the gatekeeper for quality in the Product Development Process (PDP) and the Continuous Product Process (CPP), ensuring adherence to project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) systems, certifications, and global quality standards.
- Establish quality objectives, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or Business; 5+ years in Quality, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing, with 10+ years in the industry; experience leading teams of up to 5.
- Expertise in failure investigations, RCFA, and quality methodologies like FMEA, APQP, CPL, and tools such as 8D, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys.
- Proficient in QMS, , ERP systems (SAP), and others (e.g., Quentic, Minitab).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to train, mentor, and lead cross-functional and global teams effectively.
- Fluent in English and German; willingness to travel up to 30%.

Minimum yearly gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 80.000 based on full-time employment. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market-conform overpayment.
