At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Project Procurement Manager (f/m/d) in Vienna, Austria we’re looking for?

Your future role:

From Vienna to the world: our Viennese site is a global competence center for trams and light rail vehicles. 800 colleagues develop and manufacture the Flexity™ tram for worldwide customers from Austria to Australia. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Patricia Curia (Site Procurement Director, Vienna) and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Drive all procurement operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing aligned with project milestones and quality standards
  • Manage the material procurement budget, lead cost optimization initiatives, and report savings against annual targets set by the business
  • Develop and implement a robust procurement strategy that meets project objectives in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Environmental & Development (QCD & ED) commitments
  • Monitor and report on the status of orders and deliveries, ensuring critical components are available for each train unit and proactively addressing any gaps or delays
  • Prepare and present procurement performance reviews using standardized KPIs, ensuring transparency and alignment with project and site expectations

All About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing, ideally in project-based environments
  • Strong background in managing material budgets, supplier contracts, and negotiations
  • Skilled in SAP and Microsoft Office; advanced reporting capabilities
  • Solid understanding of procurement compliance and legal frameworks
  • Experience developing and implementing procurement strategies
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Background in industrial operations, quality, or supply chain is an advantage

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. The minimum salary for this position is € 65.000 EUR gross annually for full-time employment according to the collective bargaining agreement. Overpayment depends on relevant work experience and qualifications. You’ll also:

  • Experience a dynamic work environment with a permanent position at a leading company for green mobility

  • Enjoy a competitive remuneration package, 25 days of vacation, and benefits such as company pension plans and discounted tickets for public transport

  • Optimise work-life balance with flexible working hours and hybrid working models as well as bridging days, parental part-time and “Papamonat”

  • Alstom site with company canteen and meal allowance as well as good transport connections and free parking facilities

  • Explore growth opportunities and steer your career across functions and countries

  • Benefit from excellent training opportunities through our award-winning Alstom University and participate in the company's innovation culture through idea management programmes

  • Thrive in a modern and collaborative workplace featuring mentor and buddy programs, diversity & inclusion initiatives, CSR activities, and engaging employee events

  • Enjoy a comprehensive corporate health management with various initiatives such as company physician and psychologist and other health measures

  • Other attractive offers such as employee discounts, company bike leasing & share purchase programms

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
