Description
This position will lead the HR activities in Austria, providing pro-active, strategic HR support to the business segments. This role will cover the full HR spectrum with a particular emphasis on generalist HR activities encompassing the full employee life-cycle of activities: building a talent pipeline, recruiting and retaining outstanding talent, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefit administration, business partnering, governance and more.

Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Acts as a change agent to drive and implement the desired behavioral and organizational changes across the region, aligned with the business strategy and corporate HR strategy.
- Provides HR partnering support to executive leaders, Site Director and their teams on all aspects of Human Resource Management, ensuring best practice and to proactively develop the role of HR as a business partner.
- Builds strong and influential relationships across business segments based on respect and trust.
- Provides advice and guidance to managers and employees on all HR matters, embedding a performance oriented culture and values
- Active support to people development and succession planning initiatives ensuring deliverables in line with business strategy
- Ensure that core HR processes are applied pragmatically and in a legally compliant manner
- Reviews and analyzes business and HR in order to recommend improvements
- Supports process improvement activities within HR to eliminate non-value added work and perpetuate best practices.
- Accountable for sourcing, recruiting, and interviewing strategies to attract and hire strong, diverse talent while ensuring full compliance and adherence to robust systems and processes
- Utilizes IT systems to maximum benefit for efficient processes
- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times
- Active participation in continuous improvement activities
- Participates in problem-solving
- Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
- Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
- Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
- HR Professional certification preferred
- 5-10 years or equivalent experience in HR
- Previous labor relations experience gained in a manufacturing environment preferred, including Trade Union / Works Council experience
- Excellent Knowledge of employment law, compliance and the governance frameworw
- Have a comprehensive HR toolkit and be willing and able to get involved in the full range of activities
- Action oriented with the ability to work & drive things independently with numerous different issues at the same time
- Strong team player with good management and leadership skills
- Able to gain credibility with employees at all levels, providing guidance and advice in implementation of company policies and procedures
- Ability to work within a matrix organization, supporting global HR initiatives across the region
- Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and influencing skills
- Skilled communicator with a strong ability to build relationships with senior leaders
- Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and identify systemic approaches to problem solving in a continuously changing matrix environment
- Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office products and HRIS systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities, methodical and process-driven
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex own style as needed to influence and drive results, ability to influence and engage internal stakeholders and candidates at a variety of levels and job functions throughout the organization
- Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast paced environment
- Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities which allow assessments of situations and opportunities
