What You Will Be Doing
As a Senior Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and driving the execution of the charging station management domain.
In this leadership role, you will manage two teams of developers, ensure the performance and scalability of your services, and work closely w/ stakeholders ranging from product management to customer success to deliver high-quality solutions. You will be driving design, planning, execution and operation in an agile environment.
Your expertise in software development, cloud architecture, DevOps and the following technologies will be instrumental to your success:
- Java/Kotlin w/ SpringBoot and PHP
- Relational Databases (like MySQL and PostgreSQL)
- noSQL Databases (like MongoDB and DocumentDB)
- Caching (Redis)
- Queueing Systems (like Kafka and RabbitMQ)
- React w/ TypeScript
- w/ Docker
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team building distributed, cloud-native services.
- Drive software architecture and development practices across multiple projects and services.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, QA, and cross-functional teams to define priorities and deliver high-impact features.
- Ensure that the architecture and design of solutions align with long-term business and technical goals.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and technically rigorous team culture.
- Review and contribute to software design documents to meet evolving product requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance where needed and ensure best practices in coding, testing, and operations.
- Manage a blended team of full-time engineers and contractors, ensuring alignment on quality, timelines, and delivery standards.
- Comfortable stepping into well-established engineering teams, learning their history, culture, and systems to align with ongoing goals and processes and bring in new fresh perspective
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in cloud software development
- Experience of leading a software development team of 5+ Engineers
- Proven success in building scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure (preferably AWS/GCP).
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns and system architecture principles.
- Experience designing APIs
- Experience with event-based distributed applications
- Ability to work in a team and willingness for an open feedback culture
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
