At Journi, a creative tech company and Austria's most innovative start-up of 2024, we’re on a mission to build the world’s most-downloaded printing app. Our app empowers customers to effortlessly create beautiful photo books and other print products. Using AI technology, we automatically create personalized designs based on the content our users want to print. We're looking for our first Creative Production Lead who will take over the leadership of the audiovisual production team and help us double our global video output in the next 12 months. With 40% YoY growth, expansion into USA & Canada and a brand refresh on the way, we have a growing need for more diversified production solutions that allow us to deliver higher quality localized output. So we're looking for a seasoned pair of hands to steer the wheel, and deliver creativity at scale.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work full-time (38.5 h/week) as part of the Marketing department, reporting into Head of Brand and Communications.
Manage a diverse and international team of 5 audiovisual producers. Ensure each team member gets to contribute according to their strengths, grow in the areas of their interest, and produce high-performing, on-brand output.
Hold overall accountability over the quarterly audiovisual output: committing to the delivery plan, assigning resources, managing the production budget and schedule, taking charge of creative ideation.
Assess what to outsource vs in-house, and handle every aspect of outsourcing; build a list of freelancers and agencies we collaborate with, for different stages and types of creative production.
Support the Marketing leadership in decisionmaking on how to scale audiovisual production in order to achieve the required growth targets in every region. This includes balancing the needs, budgets and resources for direct response ads (produced both in-house and with user generated content) on Meta, Google and TikTok; brand ads written and produced for YouTube; any TV advertising that will be coming in the future.
Spearhead the transition to AI creative production wherever it makes sense, and navigate all the nuance of brand perceptions that comes with this transition.
Ensure a smooth adoption of our new Brand Guidelines post-refresh.
Be the driving force behind our creative inspirations - show us the North Start of best-in-class creative output. Ensure an ongoing circulation of creative ideas and inspirations within the team, so that the best ideas that surface are used and tested in our creatives. Generate new ideas yourself when needed.
YOUR BAG OF TRICKS
2+ years of people management experience.
5+ years in audiovisual production.
Player-coach mentality: you can guide, empower, and inspire your team while not shying away from individual contribution when it's necessary (e.g. writing up a script or sourcing an actor, etc).
Ability to switch between strategic and executional mindset: you are responsible for the overall production framework and able to put necessary processes in place, but also accountable for the details and nuances when it comes to delivery excellence.
Well-versed in production types and budgets.
Professional portfolio (personal or demonstrating team's output).
Scriptwriting / copywriting / creative ideation ability in performance video ads.
You are permitted to work in the EU/Austria
You are able to relocate to / based in Vienna - the world’s most liveable city!
NICE TO HAVE
Previous experience in D2C advertising space, a startup, a creative or production agency, an internal Brand Studio.
Previous experience with creative asset localization for multiple European markets.
Previous experience with TV production.
Familiarity with AI creative production.
